As noted earlier this week, it was confirmed that The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz, Trey Miguel, Dezmond Xavier) finished up with Impact Wrestling at the last set of TV tapings. Their final match will air next Tuesday as Miguel teams with Impact World Champion Rich Swann to face Wentz and Xavier. It was then reported by WrestlingInc that the group was expected to sign for the WWE NXT brand.
In an update, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the group received an offer to stay with Impact but it wasn’t that great. The offer came while they had interest from WWE for all three members to work the NXT brand.
While it’s believed that all three will be a part of the next WWE Performance Center Class, those close to the situation report that there’s still talk of Miguel possibly joining AEW. It still seems likely that all three are headed to NXT, but the Observer says there Miguel joining AEW is a possibility.

IMPACT and AAA seemingly had big plans for Kylie Rae before the star unexpectedly announced her retirement from pro wrestling
In his latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer s that Rae was slated to portray one of the Marvel characters in AAA in which the promotion recently struck up a deal with. According to Meltzer, the Marvel roles in AAA are going to be a high-profile mainstream spot that will feature a lot of merchandise in Mexico. That merchandising could also bleed over into the United States.

Tommy Dreamer Says IMPACT Wrestling Wanted The Acclaimed Before AEW Signed Them
During The Acclaimed’s appearance on Busted Open Radio, Tommy Dreamer noted that IMPACT Wrestling was interested in signing them before they eventually signed with All Elite Wrestling. He credits Brian Myers for suggesting their names to management.
“You know, I’ll tell you this, I’ll let you in on a little inside. We were losing The Rascalz and wrestling, we know when contracts are coming up [in] IMPACT Wrestling and Brian Myers pitched both you guys to come to IMPACT and we’re like, ‘Yeah, we’ll probably look at them for the upcoming year.’ So, it’s cool to go from having nothing and I’ll tell you this because not only did you have AEW interested, you had IMPACT interested in you. That [didn’t] happen and everything happens for a reason but just the fact that you go so long in wrestling and then all of a sudden, the doors open up for you and to tell you a quick story, Scotty 2 Hotty was the next Shawn Michaels. He looked just like Shawn Michaels, and he was plugging away for the business for a long, long time and in the same week, he had job offers from ECW, WCW and the WWF, and from doing it for like six-to-eight years and then for the same week to have all these people clamor for him, it’s pretty, pretty cool so you guys, I know at least had options where I didn’t even know if you guys knew that other people were plugging for you and it was based upon your talent.”
Jay Lethal Details A “Creepy” Segment Vince Russo Wanted In Impact
During an interview with GAW TV, Jay Lethal told a story about the time Vince Russo wanted children to be massaging Sonjay Dutt’s feet.
“There’s one part of that whole storyline where Sonjay [Dutt] and I mention [it] every time we see each other. It’s when he had started the ‘Set Val Free Fund’ and he had these little kids following him and there was one pre-tape where Vince Russo wanted the kids to massage Sonjay’s feet, and he was like, ‘Okay, can I keep my shoes on? Because it’s creepy’ and Vince Russo was like, ‘Nope. You gotta take the shoes off.’ It was so — oh my God. But yeah, we laugh about it all the time. So creepy.”

Dreamer on The Rascalz leaving Impact Wrestling: “When I heard the news about the Rascalz’ contracts coming up, Impact is cool allowing people to explore other options. We wanted to resign you but if something happens and you want to take more money or you want to take an opportunity or hope to go somewhere else, they are cool with that and there is no heat because of how professional everybody is. I’m like, ‘let’s just tell the truth’. If you only knew how much the creative staff as well as Scott D’Amore wanted to keep you guys. There is a list of people and every time we had a box to check it was always, keep the Rascalz. I feel there was a lot more to do with you guys. You know personally how much you were wanted in the company. If you’re asking for my advice, you go wherever you need to grow because you can always come back one day as long as you stay on those good terms. You guys did everything the right way and like I said, all three of you were a pleasure to work with. I think you will succeed with your attitude and work rate.”
