 Ohio Valley Wrestling - Saturday Night Special Results |

For those who are interested in following the progress the wrestlers in Ohio Valley Wrestling make, I've posted the results of last night's big event, Saturday Night Special, featuring several title matches.
1. Paredyse defeated Jamin Olivencia. Paredyse won via a crucifix roll-up pinfall.
2. Jason Wayne, Randy Terrez, Dylan Bostic, Elvis Pridemoore, and Joe Coleman defeated Dre Blitz, Marcus Anthony (with Christian Mascagni), Andrew Patton, James Onnoo, and "Marksman" Nick Dumeyer. Jason Wayne gave Dre Blitz the Full Nelson Slam for the pinfall victory. After the match, Marcus Anthony beat up his team.
3. Christopher Silvio (with "Money" Mo Green and Taryn Shay) defeated Benny Bray. Silvio won by the schoolboy pinfall after several distractions from ringside.
4. Shiloh Jonze defeated Tony Gunn by disqualification. Originally, Gunn scored the win by pinfall, but when "Smooth" Johnny Spade came out and informed the referee that Gunn had loaded his stuffed "Ralphie" bear with a brick and hit Shiloh, referee Josh Sumpter reversed the decision.
5. Taeler Hendrix defeated Lady JoJo. Hendrix by pinfall following the SplitKick to become the new OVW Women's Champion.
6. Cliff Compton defeated Mohamad Ali Vaez. Compton by pinfall following a Punch 'Em In The Balls, after a flag was carried to the ring by the returning Bin Hamin, Ali Vaez' former manager. Hamin attacked Compton, but was thrown out of the ring by Michael Hayes, who returned to everyone's surprise, attacked Ali, and helped Compton score the pin.
7. Alex Silva defeated Rocco Bellagio (with James "Moose" Thomas and Christopher Bolin). Silva by pinfall following the Silva Surfer to retain the OVW Television Championship. During the match, Raul LaMotta taunted Rocco from the stands, distracting him.
8. The Elite defeated James "Moose" Thomas and Lennox Norris (with Rocco Bellagio and Christopher Bolin). The Elite by pinfall following a distraction from Raul LaMotta.
9. Mike Mondo defeated OVW Heavyweight Champion Rudy Switchblade (with Christian Mascagni). Mondo won by pinfall following a reversed frogsplash by Switchblade into the Gut Check by Mondo. After the match, Mascagni distracted Mondo and Rudy attacked him from behind, eventually hanging Mondo off the side of the ring by a hangman's noose.

Soll wohl backstage nach der Show richtig zur Sache gegangen sein:
There was a pretty heated incident backstage at last night's Ohio Valley Wrestling event in Louisville, Kentucky at the Davis Arena between OVW star Mohammad Ali Vaez and former WWE star Cliff Compton.
Vaez was said to have been upset regarding the finish of their match and started loudly complaining about Compton after returning to the locker room. The storyline was that Compton was fighting for the honor of one-legged veteran turned wrestler Michael Hayes, who Vaez had injured. Hayes showed up leading to Compton lowblowing and pinning Vaez for the finish.
When Compton returned to the back, Vaez tore into him in front of the locker room, which led to a near physical incident. The locker room held back Compton and there was no physicality.
There was a lot of talk about the incident today among the wrestlers. The feeling among those I spoke to today was that even if Vaez was upset, that wasn't the time or place to voice it. There was a feeling that Compton, as a veteran, didn't deserve to be spoken to in that way in front of the boys.

Gute Idee. Wenn die FCW einen eigenen Thread hat, dann sollte das bei OVW natürlich auch so sein. Bin gespannt, wann die ersten TNA-Wrestler zu OVW geschickt werden, und wer es sein wird. Ich denke, es würde vielen TNA-Undercardern helfen, bei OVW regelmäßig eingesetzt zu werden - egal ob bei den TV-Shows, oder den Houseshows.
Auf der offiziellen Seite kann man übrigens nicht die kompletten Shows sehen, sondern nur die normalen Weeklys. Jeden Monat gibt es aber auch noch die "Saturday Night Specials", in denen (wie bei PPV's) die Höhepunkte der Fehden stattfinden. Die kann man also nur in Auszügen bei der folgenden Weekly sehen.
Jamin Olivencia ist mir bisher auch am positivsten aufgefallen. Schon jetzt ein ziemliches Komplett-Paket.
Cliff Compton (Domino) ist für mich ein sicherer Kandidat auf eine zukünftige TNA-Karriere. Er hat bei OVW ein unterhaltsames Gimmick entwickelt, mit dem er als Heel und als Face funktioniert. Das hat mit seinem Domino-Charakter kaum noch etwas zu tun.
Jason Wayne könnte es auch mal richtig weit bringen, wenn man bedenkt, dass er offenbar erst vor einem Jahr debütiert ist und schon jetzt ziemlich überzeugend die Shows headlinen kann. Er muss noch einiges lernen, aber TNA sollte auf jeden Fall ein Auge auf ihn haben.
Mike Mondo wäre vielleicht etwas für die Midcard, mehr aber auch nicht. Er ist bei ROH wohl ganz gut aufgehoben.
Viele halten auch große Stücke auf Alex Silva, der trotz seinem jungen Alter von 20 Jahren schon 6 Jahre Wrestling-Erfahrung vorweisen kann. Ich traue ihm in Zukunft auch einiges zu, allerdings muss er mMn erst einmal ein passendes Gimmick für sich finden, bevor er den Sprung auf die große Bühne wagen kann.
Raphael Constantin wäre für die X-Division eine Option. Er hat Ähnlichkeit mit den Young Bucks / GenMe, ist im Ring nicht ganz so gut, hat dafür mehr Ausstrahlung, ein passendes Gimmick und ordentliche Mic-Skills.
Für die KO-Division wären die Bloosom-Twins wohl interessant, da sie halt ein interessantes Tag Team abgeben und dazu noch den britischen Markt bedienen. Lady Sojo und Izza Belle Smothers (Mickie Knuckles) haben ja schon etwas TNA-Erfahrung, ich glaube aber nicht, dass sie zur derzeitigen Ausrichtung passen.
Michael Hayes sehe ich auch schon ganz sicher an der Seite von Jesse Neal oder Ink Inc. Er war in der US-Army und hat im Irak als Einziger den Angriff auf sein Einsatzfahrzeug überlebt, wobei er aber einen Unterschenkel verloren hat. Heute wrestlet er also mit einer Beinprotese (und schlägt sich gar nicht mal schlecht).
Nick Dinsmore könnte ein Comedy-Programm mit EY bekommen, um sich ein besseres Bild davon machen zu können, was für Anforderungen TNA an seine Wrestler stellt. Das kann er sich aber wohl auch so denken.

Compton meint dazu auf Twitter, die Story wäre noch untertrieben und er hätte demjenigen das Genick brechen sollen. Fein, fein!
Cliff Compton:
"Yeah some tool tried to yell at me at OVW, if anything the story that was reported was toned way down. I should have broke his neck.#C**T"
Außerdem meint er, er sei nur von anderen von einer Schlägerei zurückgehalten worden, aber das steht ja schon oben.

Ich finde nämlich, dass sich die OVW-Wrestler am Mic und in Segmenten größtenteils ganz gut schlagen. Da könnte auch so mancher TNA-Wrestler noch etwas lernen.
Ansonsten fand ich die aktuelle Show in Ordnung, wobei die Matches alle eher mittelmäßig waren. Dafür fand ich die Entertainment-Segmente ganz unterhaltsam. Jamin Olivencia vs. Shiloh Jonze war halt zu kurz, ich würde sie aber gerne mal in einem längeren Match sehen.
Edit: Alex Silva hatte bei den gestrigen Impact-Tapings schon mal ein Dark Match gegen Austin Aries. TNA hat also schon ein Auge auf ihn geworfen.

Hier der Taping Report für die kommende Ausgabe (Ausstrahlung Samstag).

Spoiler:
Dark Matches
1. Paredyse defeated James Onnoo by pinfall with the sunset flip/Thumbs Up.
2. Christopher Silvio defeated Daniel Pruehs (pronounced like "Pruce") by submission with a crossface.
3. James "Moose" Thomas and Rocco Bellagio (with Christopher Bolin) defeated Dylan Bostic and Elvis Pridemoore by pinfall following the Moose Kick.
TV Taping
The taping started off with a clip of Mike Mondo getting hanged by OVW Heavyweight Champion Rudy Switchblade, with help from Christian Mascagni, from last Saturday's SNS event.
Dean Hill and Gilbert Corsey addressed the TV audience by letting them know that Mike Mondo's condition was slowly improving. Rudy and Mascagni came out, reminded the audience that Mondo, months prior, had cracked Danny Davis with brass knuckles, and said into the camera "Danny Davis, you're welcome." Afterward, they went to leave and Gilbert got in the ring to talk to Rudy. Rudy started to reply but got distracted by OVW ring announcer Brittany DeVore at ringside, who was just sitting there, watching.
Rudy got out of the ring and started picking on her while Brittany backed off, slowly. A few goons came from the back to stop Rudy, who slugged them all off. Then came referees, who Rudy again ignored and kept yelling at Brittany. Finally, Ted McNaler, Jason Wayne, Randy Terrez, and Jamin Olivencia came out to stop Rudy. Once everyone was leaving, Jamin had his back turned and Rudy hit him in the back of the head with his championship belt.
1. Brandon Espinosa defeated Ace Hawkins by pinfall following a facebuster. The way that Espinosa pinned Hawkins was... a little awkward. It looked like a teabag.
Backstage, Jamin Olivencia was shown, visibly angry. Jamin calmed himself down, stating that he wasn't going to yell, but he would leave Rudy laid out in the ring.
2. OVW Women's Champion Taeler Hendrix and the Blossom Twins defeated Epiphany, Taryn Shay, and Lady JoJo by Taeler's SplitKick. During the match, Benny Bray came out to read Taryn Shay's diary to the live crowd, reading an embarrassing story about how Taryn apparently had "that time of the month" all over her jeans in public. Taryn chased him off, and then JoJo smarted off to Epiphany, who left JoJo to fend for herself, leading to her downfall.
Backstage, Ted McNaler has brought Lennox Norris and Adam Revolver together to speak about Raphael's car issues, which apparently have kept him from the arena. Ted seemed to be blaming Adam until Lennox slipped up and said that Raphael's tires were slashed, which led to Ted stating that he never said anything about tires. Lennox caught himself, and Ted told him that he had planned on giving Lennox and Raph a rematch for the belts, but he'd changed his mind. Lennox left, promising that he would change, and Ted apologized. Revolver said it was alright, but he had to get ready for his TV title match. McNaler looked confused.
Backstage, Tony Gunn approached "Sexy" Sean Casey and asked if he would team with him against Spade and Shiloh at the next SNS. Casey seemed reluctant at first, but when Tony gave him a pre-loaded debit card and some money, he agreed. Behind them, Espinosa exclaimed "what the hell?" and walked into his locker room, which was decorated with posters of Taylor Lautner and Justin Beiber, with the words "I'M HERE, I'M QUEER, GET USED TO IT." Espinosa was pissed.
3. Jason Wayne defeated Joe Coleman by pinfall following the Full Nelson Slam. Wayne seemed reluctant at first, because Joe is usually a good guy, but when Coleman yelled "I'm gonna make a name for myself" and shoved him, Wayne re-acted accordingly. Afterward, he took the mic and spoke to Dinsmore, saying that he wasn't going anywhere until he was able to defeat him.
4. Adam Revolver defeated OVW Television Champion Alex Silva to become the NEW OVW Television Champion by pinfall following the Russian Leg Sweep. After the match, the two shook hands.
Backstage, Christopher Bolin reminded Rocco and Moose that Raul LaMotta cost both of them championships at the SNS, and that he wanted them to find Raul. When they left, Trailer Park Trash approached Bolin to tell him that, since he was the new commissioner in charge at OVW, he was booking Raul vs. a member of Bolin Servies at the Colgate Gym in Charlestown, Indiana (this Saturday). After this was stated, Rocco ran into the room and yelled that Raul was stealing Bolin's car and that Moose was on the hood. Bolin and Rocco ran out of the room.
5. Jamin Olivencia defeated OVW Heavyweight Champion Rudy Switchblade (with Christian Mascagni) by disqualification when Rudy hit Jamin with the OVW Heavyweight Championship belt. After the match, Rudy moved the floor mats, laid a chair down, and gave Jamin a piledriver onto it. Jamin was completely knocked out. Rudy and Christian just left.
Dark Matches
1. Raul LaMotta defeated Dave Osbourne by pinfall following the Curb Stomp.
2. Randy Terrez defeated Ali Vaez by pinfall following the One-Winged Angel Driver.
